Iguapop Shop

Filed under: Barrio "El Borne", Graffiti, Fashion Shops — kasper @ 1:55 pm

Iguapop Shop

Great fashion shop on C/ de Comerc, Emphasising heavily on cult youth or street wear from all over the world, but also quite a few local artists and designers. Moreover the Iguapop shop are very much into cool chill out music, from well-known as well as not that well known artists!

Why go there: First of all they have the rebajas at the moment, where you can find great offers on handmade bags from Pinzat, or adidas shoes with art from local artists on them. Furthermore it is very inspiring to go to the Iguapop Shop… If not inspiring enough.. go to the Iguapop Gallery next door!

M 69 - Streetwear and Fashion

Filed under: Cool:, Barrio "El Borne", Fashion Shops — kasper @ 1:07 pm

 m69

M 69 is a nice little fashion shop in Barcelona… or 3 that is, as they just opened their third shop in Borne!

They started the shops to only have mens fashion, and (don’t quote me for this) I think gay fashion, otherwise they wouldn’t call Eixample for Gaixample would they now? Anyways, they wanted their shop to have design clothes for the man of the 21 century… And eventhough we heard that song before… it is kinda cool!

M69

But before we get all too naive here, the name of the shop is explained by the owners Albert and Jordi, as: “M is your name, 69 is your favourite position!” Well to me it can get a bit too gay… but hey… those two guys don’t run the shops anymore… Propably sipping mojitos somewhere in gay heaven or whatever…

So, back to the shops, for men who “knows elegance and where to find it!”

In the shops you’ll find brand names such as:
Glamour, Encanto, Converse All Star, Havaianas, Paul Smith, Puma, Bikkemberg, E.Play, Amaya Arzuaga, Bosfresh, Evisu, Freitag, Geda, Kee, Dnim, Kulte, Miro Jeans, Plata, Replay and Seal… and much, much more!

So, you’ll find jeans, pants, shirts and shoes for the fashion victim, but also accessories, books and music!

M69

(Borrowed some of the Pictures from NEOMODA.COM)

You will find the M69 shops in borne at:
Carrer del Rec
Carrer St. Antoni Dels Sombrerers (not a very precise map, but you’ll find it!)

The Coolest Cheese Shop in Barcelona - Tot Formatge

Filed under: Cool:, Barrio "El Borne", Special Shops — kasper @ 12:47 pm

Tot Formatge

Tot Formatge at Passeo del Borne is the coolest cheese shop in Barcelona… maybe even the world… I have never seen a cheese shop this nicely designed! And they have everything in here from Danish Bluecheese to the famous spanish goat cheeses or Manchego (from La Mancha), the Ronchal which are sheeps milk cheeses often aged up to 2 years, the famous Mont Enebro which is not very presentable but tasts like a piece of heaven… Perfect to heat up and put in a club sandwich…. and many more exquisite cheeses!

So…. even if you’re not the biggest cheese afficionado, hold your breath and check out this cool shop

Find it at PG. del Borne

Please… if you do dissagree with my oppinions, please write a comment, stating for example, why this is not the coolest cheese shop in Barcelona… or other oppinions! The more different oppinions, the more visitors to Barcelona will benefit from this blog!

Mercado - Cool Designer/ Art/ Gadget Shop

Filed under: Cool:, Barrio "El Borne", Special Shops — kasper @ 9:23 pm

Mercado del Borne

One of my absolute favourites in Borne is the newly opened ”Mercado” (which means “market”). As Mercado puts it themselves:

“Mercado is collective initiatives, institutions and companies from all over the world which aims to bring to Barcelona an unusual selection of products within the realms of graphic art, street art, design items, fashion, homeware, utilities, music, videoart, gadgets, stationary, books, magazines, prints, collectables and everything else that creates a deeply emotional experience between creators and the public.

The goal of the Mercado is to move beyond what people do and why they do it in the first place, bringing to life powerful stories that connect artists to artlovers, collectors and consumers in general.

I would warmly recommend to go and check out this shop, whether that be for a gift, something nice for yourself ;) , art or just to be inspired…

You’ll find Mercado at Carrer del Comerc 7 (maybe 6)

Sans & Sans - Tea Shop

Filed under: Cool:, Barrio "El Borne", Special Shops — kasper @ 9:04 pm

Sans & Sans

A beautiful little tea shop in Borne at Carrer de L’argenteria! This shop smells so great, that you just have to visit… and you’ll be put back in time for at couple of hundred years! The shop is designed in dark wood, and 100’s of little cabinets and shelves full of tins filled with tea from all over the world! The people in this little tea shop are very kind, and will guide you to find the tea that suits you. And the fact that you don’t have to buy a big bag at one time is also very nice… did I tell you about the aroma, that you can smell up a few blocks at L’Argenteria? Well a nice smell like that is never, I stress NEVER unwelcome in Barcelona ;)
